Tethered caps

Sustainability is more important than ever. Unfortunately, however, a lot of plastic still ends up in nature, such as the caps on bottles. There is a new solution to this, which will be mandatory for single-use beverage packaging from July 2024: tethered caps. We can also supply these new caps. 

Why has Ducona opted for tethered caps? 

This type of cap will be mandatory from July 2024, but we would also like to make our contribution to a cleaner world beyond that. We are aware that waste is a major problem for the environment. The so-called "tethered caps" help to reduce this problem: because the caps are attached to the bottles, the risk of them ending up in nature is significantly lower. We also take sustainability into account at all times in the production of our PET bottles: our PET packaging is recyclable, requires less energy to produce than conventional packaging and minimises CO2 emissions during production and transport.

Tethered caps have various advantages: 

• Less waste: tethered caps help to reduce waste, which is good for the environment. Litter pollutes our planet and can be dangerous for animals. 
• Increased recycling rate: As the caps are fixed to the bottles, there is a higher chance that they will be recycled. This helps to save raw materials and reduce the energy required for new production.
